John F. Kennedy Awards

Fundraising for charitable organizations in the Federal workplace can be traced to the late 1940's. However, formal authority to permit fundraising in the Federal workplace was not established until 1961, when President John F. Kennedy authorized the U.S. Civil Service Commission to develop guidelines and regulate fundraising in the Federal service.

It is with that tradition and living up to those famous words “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” that we are happy to present the John F. Kennedy Traveling Award.

This award is given to the 4 agencies in their size ranges that had the highest per capita gift in each given year. These agencies will receive a framed award as well as this beautiful replica from the Kennedy Center in New York City to proudly display in 2005.
