It’s Time to Make a Difference
2004 CFC Kick-Off September 15th

YOU can make a difference by attending the 2nd Annual Heartland CFC Kickoff. All federal employees are invited to the Ilus W. Davis Civic Mall from 11:30 to 1:00, September 15th, to participate in a “city-wide” CFC kickoff. Be sure to purchase your $5 ticket from any CFC coordinator which includes a box lunch and CFC T-shirt specially designed for the campaign.

YOU can join over 1500 federal employees gathered together to support many Kansas City non-profit agencies in need and celebrate the united giving of the federal community. There are many exciting activities and outstanding speakers scheduled for the event. A patriotic flyover of an F-15 fighter will coincide with the singing of the national anthem and team building competitions will be one of many festivities planned for the day.

In addition, keynote speakers will include Mayor Kay Barnes, Bradley Scott, Regional Administrator GSA, Greater Kansas City Federal Executive Board Chairperson, Henry Palacios, Regional Director, U.S. Census Bureau & 2004 CFC Co-Chair, and Anita Duncan, Vice President of the AFGE Local 1923 & 2004 CFC Co-Chair. We are certain that after participating in this overwhelming shared feeling of giving at the Kickoff, it will motivate you to do more for those in Kansas City that need our help.

YOU can make a contribution at any time after the Kickoff, whether it is a one-time cash donation or a payroll deduction, your gift will make a difference to other people. Consider these numbers. If 1,000 people make a one-time cash donation of $10.00 that is $10,000.00. Gifts of $10.00 over 26 pay periods will add up to $260.00 at the end of the year. Both types of contribution add up and make a difference for the organizations you care about.
