The CFC Cabinet unanimously approved Hope Lives . . . When You Give as the 2006 Heartland CFC campaign theme. Also, the Cabinet favorably responded to the proposed graphic designed concept. In addition, the Cabinet viewed the 2006 CFC Video - - "Be the Miracle". Patrick shared preliminary ideas for the Regional video. Recommendations include: mass produce more Regional videos on DVDs versus VHS tapes and include a strong "sales pitch" at the end of the video.

Carla Farris shared her graphic design and will email it to all CFC Communication Committee members. Overall, everyone agreed that Carla’s design is a great starting point. Paige Wymore-Wynn will ask her co-worker to create a graphic design similar to the proposed graphic design. Patrick would like all graphic designs emailed to him by May 10^th so he can share at the next CFC Cabinet meeting. If necessary, Patrick will hold an additional meeting before May 17^th to further discuss and finalize the graphic design prototype.

Shawntell Martin shared Les Vahsholtz’s ideas regarding the Regional video. Les is open and willing to do what the committee decides. He mentioned that the simplest option is to incorporate footage from Regional/KC metro area events/organizations versus footage from national and international events/organizations with the song as a voice-over. Les emphasized the importance of scheduling times to film upcoming Regional/KC metro area events/organizations. Les is willing to film/record what the committee decides. The filming dates need to be scheduled as soon as possible.

The following suggestions were shared:

• Film/photograph 2-3 upcoming Day of Caring volunteer events;
• Film/photograph VA’s check presentation event at Sherwood Center; Jill Beck would know more information
• Film/photograph activities at St. Vincent’s Clinic;
• Film/photograph SSA’s Golf Tournament Event on June 19^th at St Andrew’s Golf Course; Buck O’Neil will be the special guest; Frank Jones is the point of contact
• Film/photograph activities at a animal rescue clinic in the Northland; Michele Nelson knows more information
• Film/photograph the Special Olympic State Games in Wichita; To be held in June; Paige Wymore-Wynn knows more information

In regards to a strong "sales pitch" at the end of the Regional video, the following ideas were shared:

• Incorporate the theme
• Use a locally-recognized face in the community, for example, Larry Moore of Channel 9 News or Buck O’Neil
• Review the CFC Humanitarian stories on the CFC Web site to get ideas
