thanked the cabinet members for being involved in the campaign this
year. Each
member in attendance introduced themselves.
Labor Cabinet Update – Sharon Al-Uqdah:
·
Reported on the Union Partnership Meeting held on April 27th
·
The purpose of the Union Partnership Council is to secure the support of
representatives from more than 20 area federal employee unions.
·
Up-dating of the Union Listing is an on-going process
·
We are doing a much better job of obtaining Labor Co-Coordinators
·
Labor Division Co-Chairs with make peer calls on the Bargaining Units in
their area. Labor Co-Coordinators
were to be encouraged in all Agency Head Calls
·
Upcoming meeting will take place on July 20th.

·
Gary Beets, FMS and Lee Cason, IRS, are at 83% of calls that have been
completed or scheduled.

All large accounts have been contacted.
·
Having a few problems with the IRS Field Offices/Congress Offices
·
Remaining calls will be done by June 30.
Division
1:
·
Mike Jaromin (DHS-CIS) and Shelly Brodie from EPA have completed 37 % of
calls for this division.
·
Shelley Brodie (EPA) will be the LE for this division
·
Having some difficulty with some US Courts calls, but will be able to
handle
·
Four accounts declined to participate.
·
All calls should be done by June 30
Division
2:
·
Ethel Johnson (SSA) and Team Leaders from Social Security & HHS have
completed 97 % of calls for this division.
·
There are four Team Leaders from Social Security and Fred Schuster from
Dept of Health & Human Services have made these calls.
Division
3:
·
Mokhtee Ahmad (FTA) and Debbie Danner (FAA), have completed 100% of
calls for this division
Division 4:
· Bill Turbitt
and Matt Mitchell (USDA) are currently at 63% of calls completed & all have
been scheduled.
·
All calls should be done by June 30
Division 5:
·
Have had a meeting with the new District Manager – Selwyn Epperson and
he has pledged his support. There
was also discussion of adding addition LE’s to this division.
·
Terry Penland and Carla Clay (USPS), will be making calls on all Post
Masters & Plant Managers.
·
Jeff Beaton will be an additional LE this year.
Division
6:
·
Mike Anthony (USMC) and Ed Kolodziej
(USACE) are currently at 40 of calls that are completed.
·
Having some problems with guard squadrons and will try a top down
approach on a state level.
· Remaining calls
will be done by the June 30 deadline.
·
Division Chairs should follow-up on those agency heads who were invited
to the Leaders breakfast.
·
All completed Agency Head Agenda forms should be sent back to Larry.
·
Goals for each Division and overall CFC goal will be done at the July
CFC Cabinet Meeting.
Goal
Setting –
·
A comparison sheet example was shown listing last year’s projected
amount and the final amount that was collected.
·
Each division will set a projected goal-need to factor in agencies that
are closing, downsizing, having employees retiring or early outs.
·
Division Chairs, LE’s and Team Leaders need to meet prior to July’s
Cabinet Meeting to conduct a progress and goal setting meeting.
·
The combined total of all division goals will be reviewed at the July CFC
Cabinet Meeting and an overall goal recommendation set for CFC.
·
The recommended goal will be reviewed by the Federal Executive Board
(FEB) Members at their July 19th Cabinet Meeting for final approval.
·
CFC will present their goal at the Community Campaign Cabinet Meeting
(United Way Cabinet Meeting) on August 23rd.
·
Our goal is to be included in the overall Community Goal.
·
The initial release of the CFC goal will be made at the United Way
Community Kick-off on September 7th, as part of the overall Community
Goal.
·
The official release of the 2006 CFC Goal will be revealed at the CFC
Campaign Kick-off on September 20th.

have been placed and many items have already arrived.
The one exception is the Eagle, as there was an error in the sample.
The cabinet was reminded of what was approved at the April Cabinet

are going out about the SmartCard and we may need some help of this in the near

Communications – Patrick Bustos
We
would like to remind the cabinet that “Hope Lives
… When You Give” is our
theme
for this year.
They
submitted the proposed graphic for the catalog this year.
Linda
Day made the original motion to
accept the graphic and was seconded by Christina Bennett.
We
have begun filming for the local piece for the video.
Some areas which we hope to cover:

We filmed the SSA’s
Golf Tournament Event on June 19th at St Andrew’s Golf Course and
had Buck O’Neil giving us a few words of wisdom
·
We will be filming at various sites
at the Day of Caring.
·
Planned Activities at local
non-profits and other events of interest in KC
·
There was a request for individuals
to be filmed for the video, telling their story of how CFC has helped them.
Date of filming is set for June 28th.
We have a draft of the first newsletter
which will come out in July and hopefully monthly after that through the
campaign.

Eligibility Status –
● Samm retired as
of June 16th, but we certainly thank him for his service to the CFC
and the community.
·
We have completed our eligibility process.
·
At the May 18th
Eligibility Meeting, 4 appeals from applications which were not approved, were
reviewed again. All 4 decisions for
sustained. The order of the
federations and local un-affiliated was randomly drawn and will be listed in the
following order in the 2006 Catalog for Caring.

Events – Larry Hisle:
· The Kick-off
Committee met for the second time yesterday Tuesday,
June 20th.
·
The planned date for this event is Wednesday, September 20th once
again
at
the

Christine Allen, GSA is chairing this committee this year.
·
The plan is to invite those
committee members back who participated last
year,
or ask for replacements. We also
will be inviting volunteers from
the
federal agencies to participate this year.
·
New entertainment: instead
of a flyover, we hope to have team of parachutes drop into the park.
We are still trying to get clearance for this.
·
More detailed information will be available at the next meeting.
· Golf Tournament
·
CFC Championship Golf Tournament has been scheduled for October 9th
(Columbus
Day).
·
Tim Gosnell form GSA is once again helping us with this.
·
We are hoping to have Eagle’s Landing host this again.
·
Save-the-date messages will be sent to all campaign coordinators.
·

Committee - Recruitment & Workshops – Nadine Johnson & Melvin Hawkins

Campaign Coordinators’ names need to be identified by the end of June.

Invites to the workshops will be mailed out to campaign coordinators
(CC) by July 5th

CC’s will be given a choice of either August 2nd
or August 10thth to attend the CC Workshops. (They will only
need to attend one workshop)

Draft of the Agenda was reviewed by the committee members. A Federation
Fair will be held prior to the training so that CC’s can visit agencies.
·

LE
Training
·
CFC LE Training is scheduled for September 12th, 13th
& 14th at various
non-profit agencies each day.

We are working on a Draft timeline of the LE Training that will be
reviewed by the committee members.

The following Speakers are needed for the LE Training – Sales
Training, Communication Skills, and Marketing Skills.

Former LE’s will be used as Speakers.

Training

We will continue to offer a Speaker
Workshop for the Local Unaffiliated agencies to attend and learn more about CFC.
This workshop will be held on August 23rd at the Kauffman
Foundation

Larry will attend the other
federation speaker’s trainings and present on CFC.

put together.

Regulations Meeting
No
up-date on this information.
When
the complete regulation changes are released, it was suggested to have a special
meeting regarding these proposed changes.
Day
of Caring Update
·
Currently have 62 federal agencies and labor groups at 80 locations
volunteering for Day of Caring.
·
Day of Caring is Saturday, June 24th.
July
Cabinet Meeting
·
The cabinet Meeting is set for July 18, 2006
Merger
Options:
·
Fred Hodge was spoken with Leavenworth CFC about a possible merger in
2007. Their board did meet for a
discussion on this matter, but declined at this time.
They did state, if they were to merge, it would be with Heartland CFC.
·
We will begin inviting them to our various events.
·
Larry Hisle and an unnamed LFCC member will attend a LFCC meeting with
The CFC of Northwest Missouri on July 18th to discuss merging.
Sponsorships
for 2006 Campaign
·
GEHA has committed to sponsor the CFC Victory Awards Breakfast in the
amount of $2,000.
·
GEICO has agreed to sponsor the Cruise Giveaway as well as our Leaders
Breakfast held in May in the amount of $3,000
·
A request has been made to Blue Cross and Blue Shield to be a sponsor
for our Kick-off, but no feedback as of yet, but Pepsi and Mr. Goodcents is on
board.
·
Letters have been sent out to hotels requesting donations for the
upcoming campaign. Luke warm
response
·
If anyone has any contacts with companies for gift certificates, hotel
stay’s or would like to sponsor any one of our events (i.e. Kick-off, Victory
